FIELD: small shipbuilding; building multi-purpose airboats. SUBSTANCE: airboat has box-shaped hull with open cockpit and engine and propulsion complex with air propeller and control surfaces. Hull is provided with pontoon-type tight reservoirs. Total watertight volume of these reservoirs is so selected that reserve buoyancy created by them at least exceeds mass of airboat with cockpit fully flooded. Reservoirs may be made in form of fore, middle or aft boxes. Bottom may have outer sagging. Width of aft air box may be lesser than width of aft extremity. It is good practice to make middle air box detachable. Center of buoyancy shall be matched with center of gravity of airboat. Tight elastic reservoirs may be additionally arranged along sides inside or outside the hull. Elastic reservoirs may be made sectional. Air boxes and/or reservoirs shall be filled with agent whose specific gravity is lesser than that of water. Reservoirs may adjoin semicylindrical sides. Engine and air propulsor shall be arranged coaxially or shall be linked kinematically. Transom bulkhead and bulkhead of air box may be inclined relative to longitudinal plane of airboat. Air may be provided with cabin and at least two air propulsors; it may be also provided with ice brake or brake parachute.
