FIELD: refractory materials. SUBSTANCE: titanium powders are brought into interaction with soot carbon after preliminary keeping in vacuum at 200-300 C for 60-120 h. Mixture is then continuously fed into reaction zone of apparatus at 885-1000 C. EFFECT: avoided necessity of complex equipment and emission or reaction gases, enabled productivity (by 2-3 times) and reduced (by 25-30%) cost price of carbide product. 1 tbl
