FIELD: forest and wood-working industries; applicable in drying of leaf wood, for instance, oak. SUBSTANCE: hydrothermal treatment of wood is carried out in sealed drying chamber in hot water with pressure varying from atmospheric to 0.5-1 atm. Hydrothermal treatment of, for instance, oak with moisture content of 60% is carried out in two cycles. Heating is carried out at air atmospheric pressure for 10 h, and during subsequent 14 h wood is heated at pressure of 0.5-1 atm. Then heating is repeated in the same sequence. Upon completion of hydrothermal treatment, at beginning of water discharge, pressure is reduced to 0.3-0.5 atm, and after water discharge, wood is dried by alternating pressure in chamber depending on vacuum-pressure cycle from below of atmospheric to 1.2 atm at temperature from 60 to 80 C and subsequent cooling and ventilation of wood. EFFECT: production of high-quality dried wood with minimum consumption of heat energy. 1 dwg
