FIELD: heating, drying.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the sphere of wood-working industry immediately dealing with a technique of oak bogwood drying and is particularly relevant for furniture manufacture. The proposed technique consists in the following. At the first stage of the process a bogwood blank is placed in an autoclave and undergoes hydrothermal treatment with dry saturated vapour heated to a temperature of 120-122°C and under a pressure of 1.4-1.5 atm abs during 1-2 hours. At the second stage the heated wood blanks are placed in a sodium chloride solution to be maintained under an ambient pressure and at a temperature of 20-22°C during 1.5-2.5 hours. On recovery from the solution the blanks are placed in a convective wood-drying chamber and undergo convective drying treatment for the bogwood moisture content to be finally equal to 7.9-8.0%. The drying treatment mode is selected based on the wood blank thickness.
EFFECT: drying process acceleration combined with quality improvement.
