FIELD: preparation of glass ceramic materials having high strength and service characteristics, and structures for protection against shock effects and abrasive wear. SUBSTANCE: glass ceramic material comprises, wt.%: SiO2, 55.0-75.0; Li2O, 10.0-20.0; NaPO3, 1.0.1-5.0; K2O, 1.0-3.0; CaF2, 0.5-3.0; LiF, 1.0-10.0; MnO/MnO2, 0.1-5.0; ZnO/ZnO2, 0.1-5.0; Na2O, 0.1-10.0. Method comprises cooking lithium-silicate glass at temperatures from 1250- 1350 C, molding members for manufacturing protective structure by methods well known in glass making industry, drawing from melt casting into mold, pressing to desired sizes and configuration, annealing semi-finished products at temperatures from 390 to 420 C. Crystallization is carried out in three-step mode: temperature rise to 480-520 C, maintenance for 0.5-10 h, temperature rise to 670-730 C at rate of 1-5 C/min, maintenance for 1-3 h, cooling to room temperature at 5-10 C/min. Protective structure is made in the form of honey-formed matrix and protective glass ceramic members from glass ceramic material. Honey combs are made as through ones, and members are made from glass ceramic material. Clearances between members and matrix walls are filled with adhesive composition to prepare highly strong glass ceramic material and structure based thereon which has resistance to shock loads and abrasive wear.
