FIELD: welding, namely electric arc welding by consumable or non-consumable electrode of large-size grid or girder constructions with large number of short joints. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes power source for welding arc, welding burner, arc burning indicator and mutually connected through gas supplying members: bottle with shield gas, gas flowmeter, electropneumatic valve with winding, throttling member and power unit for winding of electric valve. Throttling member is joined in parallel with electropneumatic valve; its winding is joined with power unit through arc burning indicator. According to other variant of invention throttling member is joined in parallel with electropneumatic valve. Arc burning indicator is in the form of primary winding of transformer connected in series with secondary circuit of welding-arc power source. Power unit for electropneumatic valve is in the form of secondary winding of transformer. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 2 dwg
