FIELD: recovery of polymeric materials. SUBSTANCE: method includes deformation of worn-out tyre by application of axial tensile load to its side rings through corresponding grips and sequential generation of compression waves in liquid. After application of axial tensile load to grips, worn-out tyre is cooled to temperature lower than rubber brittleness temperature of tyre, and tyre is set into rotation around its axis by applying torques M1 and M2 to tyre through the same grips. Then tyre is dipped into non-boiling liquid to depth (0,8-1,1)×(R1-R), where R1 and R are maximum and minimum radii of tyre in non-deformed state. Compression waves are generated in liquid. Wave amplitude is to be 0.3 - 0.9 MPa and duration 10-3 - 10μs. These waves act onto all external surface of tyre part dipped in liquid. Temperature of liquid Tl, temperature of tyre Tt and minimum temperature TL of liquid film boiling should conform to inequality TL≤Tl+(Tt-Tl)/[1+(λlρlCl)1/2(λtρtCtCt)-1/2] where λl,λt is thermal conductivity; ρl,ρt is density; Cl,Ct is heat capacity of liquid and tyre material, respectively.
