FIELD: tyre industry. SUBSTANCE: tyres to be ground are prepared by compression deformation to form compact block and are kept in this state till explosion. Worn-out tyres are ground by explosion. Tyres are exposed to action of explosion inside swirl chamber arranged in working housing by swirl flow rotating around axis of swirl chamber. Swirl flow is formed by guide vane assembly made in form of rows of vanes secured on walls of swirl chamber. Worn-out tyre grinder has chamber with loading and unloading units, members for placing and grinding the tyres and explosive fixing unit. Device has swirl chamber in form of solid of revolution with cross section area increasing along longitudinal axis. It is furnished with guide vane assembly in form of vanes secured in rows on swirl chamber walls. Swirl chamber is arranged inside working chamber housing to form compensation chamber as clearance between walls. Loading unit has movable sealing sluice with compartment for tyres. Member for placing the tyres is formed by cutouts in upper parts of vanes of guide vane assembly with formation of support ribs. Proposed inventions provides both breakage and grinding of tyres.
