FIELD: veterinary science, medicine. SUBSTANCE: invention relates, in part, to laboratory methods of identification of microorganisms and can be used for identification of mycobacteria. Suspension of microorganisms is sown on paraffin disks placed in nutrient medium with solution of basophilic aniline dyes: neutral-rot, methylene blue and malachite green. Mycobacterium species are identified by time of the parent medium color alternation (decolorization) to yellow color. For M. tuberculosis typical decolorization of solutions of neutral-rot, methylene blue and malachite green occurs for 48-72; 12-17 and 78-92 h, respectively; for M. bovis - for 38-48; 16-18 and 82-93 h, respectively; for M. avium and atypical mycobacteria - for 9-14; 10-13 and 19-24 h, respectively. The proposed method shows significant resolution capacity and ensures to carry out identification of mycobacteria that makes the basis for well-timed and successful carrying out the complex of antituberculosis actions. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of method, accelerated procedure, decreased cost. 2 tbl, 2 ex
