FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining biochemical patient blood and urine properties. General alkaline phosphatase and its bone fraction activity before surgical intervention and Ca concentration, general hydroxyproline and creatinine is determined in daily urine portion and values are calculated like ratio K1 of general alkaline phosphatase activity to its bone fraction activity, Ca concentration K2 relative to 1 g of creatinine, general hydroxyproline concentration relative to 1 g of creatinine. All the values or at least one of them being K1 equal to or greater than 2, K2 greater than 340 mg/g and K3 equal to or greater than 54 mg/g, retarded bone formation process is to diagnosed. EFFECT: high accuracy and simplicity of the method. 1 tbl
