FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves evaluating thermolabile alkaline phosphatase (AlPh) and tartrate-resistant phosphatase acid (AcPh) activity in patient blood serum and general hydroxypropyline (HOP)and creatinine (Cr) concentration in diurnal urine using standard methods. Coefficients are calculated K1= AlPh/AcPh and K2=HOP/Cr mg/kg. K1>15 and K2<30 being the case, moderate severity osteoporosis is diagnosed. K1<15 and K2>30 being the case, severe osteoporosis is diagnosed. EFFECT: simplified and low cost diagnosis method. 1 tbl
