FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed timing phase control mechanism has camshaft 6 with cams 4 and 5, hydraulic tappets acted upon by cams 4 or 5, valve support 3 transmitting motion from tappets to valve 1, control rod 7 connected by channels C, D with hydraulic tappets. Position of control rod 7 depends on mode of engine operation. Each cam 4 or 5 has profile providing maximum filling and cleaning of engine cylinder at different ranges of rotational speeds of shaft 6 and optimum law of change of parts acceleration in timing mechanism. Timing phases are changed by control rod 7 at smooth change of mode of operation with provision of operation of one tappet only. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation. 2 dwg
