FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of hydrogenation of aromatic ketones that are intermediate compounds used for production of dyes, lacquers, resins. Method involves hydrogenation of aromatic ketones of acetophenone order with hydrogen at increased temperature and under atmosphere pressure on Brensted palladium-containing catalyst treated preliminary with acid solution. Acetophenones taken in concentration 1.12 x 10-2 - 8.32 x 10-2 mole/l are hydrogenated at 40-70 C in the presence of catalyst taken in the amount 0.16-2.5 g/l. Except for, catalyst is treated with acid solution taken in the concentration 0.36 x 10-2 kmol/m3 for 30-40 min. Sulfuric acid is used as the source of Brensted acid. EFFECT: increased yield of aromatic hydrocarbons, decreased hydrogenation time. 1 tbl, 2 dwg, 3 ex
