METHOD AND DEVICE FOR RESTORING NERVOUS, MUSCULAR AND MOTOR COORDINATION IN PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM DISORDERS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2179009 C2

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves treating strained muscles with vibration causing contraction and extension of muscle fibers in selected muscle group in the direction of their natural contraction and extension. Initial position of selected extremity is determined distinguished in that patient is capable of reaching maximum static muscular stress. Direction of vibration application is selected as counter direction relative to which the patient is capable of exerting maximum counteraction to the action applied. Vibration is applied to articulations or bones of the extremity being under action. The extremity is shifted in selected direction, in supporting continuous contact with the selected treatment place. The device has base, power member, vibrator having vibration end piece connected to unit for controlling vibration frequency and connected to lever attached to the base by means of movable articulation that enables one to move the vibrator unit at least in one plane and in one direction. T he power member is connected to device members adjacent the movable articulation so that the power member and the movable articulation enable corresponding device member adjacent the movable articulation to perform given displacement under given force. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment. 11 cl, 7 dwg
