FIELD: internal combustion engines; fuel systems. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fuel tank caps providing tightness of fuel tank after filling. Proposed cap has body 1 with threaded end 2 for turning into tank filler neck 3 and ring gasket 5 made of elastic material placed on end between its threaded part and support end face 4 of body. Gasket 5 is made hollow and is provided with through cut 7 along surface on side opposite to end. Flexible, axially deformable ring element 8 with memorized shape effect is arranged in space 6 of gasket 5. Ring element can be made in form of plate spring contacting with inner walls of gasket space 6 through intermediate reinforcement members 9 and 10 arranged symmetrically relative to plane X-X normal to axis 0-0 of threaded end 2. Cross-section of reinforcement members follows shape of inner walls 11 and 12 of gasket space. To provided accurate positioning in gasket space, plate spring 8 is provided with alignment projections over inner perimeter pointed to side of its axis coinciding with axis 0-0.
