ELECTRICAL CONDUCTOR (ALTERNATIVES) Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2179348 C2

FIELD: electrical engineering; stranded conductors for overhead power transmission lines and contact suspension wires of electrified transport power systems. SUBSTANCE: conductor has external-lay copper-wire turns, central core, and internal lays; core and lay are made of steel wire with at least one shielding layer of nickel and/or chromium, and/or copper. As an alternative, conductor may have external-lay copper-wire turns, central core, and shielding layer of zinc; external-lay turns are provided with at least one shielding layer of nickel and/or chromium. EFFECT: enhanced electric conductivity, mechanical strength, and service life of conductor. 11 cl, 2 dwg
