PAINT FOR PROTECTIVE-DECORATIVE COATING OF BUILDING STRUCTURES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: technology of building materials intended for use as protective-decorative coating on metal and wood, asbestos cement. SUBSTANCE: paint comprises phosphate binder, envelope pigment, latex and water. Phosphate binder is product of reaction of phosphoric acid, nepheline concentrate and polyacrylamide at weight ratio of 0.5:1:0.15. Said product is prepared by gradual addition to phosphoric acid solution having concentration of 11% of P₂O₅ while stirring nepheline concentrate to adjust pH at 3.5-4.0 followed by addition of polyacrylamide, maintenance of mix for 0.5 h, separation of unopened nepheline particles followed by addition of polyacrylamide and stirring for 0.5 hour. Envelope pigment and filler include envelope structure composition in which carrier acts as one of above- enumerated products: finely dispersed mica powder, aluminium phosphate in admixture with silicon oxide, calcium sulfide ash from heat power stations, finely dispersed flotation slimes comprising alumo-iron-calcium silicates, and carrier envelope includes titanium or iron oxides, and content of components in paint is as follows, wt %: said phosphate binder, 10-25; envelope structure composition, 15-40; and water, the balance.
