FIELD: fire-fighting, applicable for suppression of fires at complex technological objects. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in producing of concentration of the fire-extinguishing compound in the hearth of fire sufficient for suppression of burning during a time period that is necessary for suppression of flame, the fire-extinguishing compound is fed to the zone of fire by impulse injection with formation of a fire-extinguishing front on the boundary of the fire-hazardous zone with concentration of the fire-extinguishing compound within 700 to 1000 g/cu.m, the hearth of fire is isolated by the formed front from air flow, and the formed front is displaced at a speed of 50 m/s, the shape of the fire- extinguishing front is adaptive to the shape of the object under protection, during formation of the fire-extinguishing front the direction of air flow is determined, and an additional barrier to the air flow is created, to this end, 0.2 to 0.5 of the volume of the fire-extinguishing compound is injected against the direction of air flow. The device for realization of the method has a fire detector unit, at least three fire extinguishers with stop-start valves connected through pipe-lines at least to two headers, both headers are provided with nozzles with membranes, and use is made of a controller, fire-extinguishing compound pressure transducer installed in the pipe-line connected to the first header, unit for determination of the air flow direction and force, a drive is installed in the second header, the first, second and third inputs of the controller are connected respectively to the outputs of the fire detector unit, fire-extinguishing compound pressure transducer in the pipe-line and the unit for determination of the air flow direction and force, and the first output of the controller is connected at the same time to the control inputs of the stop-start valves of the first and second fire extinguishers, the second output second fire extinguishers, the second output of the controller is connected to the control input of the drive, the third output of the controller is connected to the control input of the stop-start valve of the third fire extinguisher, and the outputs of the first and second fire extinguishers are connected to the respective stop-start valves and at the same time they are connected through the pipe-lines to the input of the first header, the output of the third fire extinguisher with the respective stop-start valve is connected through the pipe-line to the input of the second header.
