FIELD: petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: addition agent is prepared by reacting C8-C18 alkylphenol with elemental sulfur at elevated temperature in the presence of basic type catalyst. Sulfured product is further treated with alkanethiol in which C12-C18 alkyl at temperatures from 100 to 170 C at alkylphenol to alkanethiol molar ratio of 1:0.02-0.5. Neutralization is then carried out by adding suspension of calcium oxide hydroxide to dihydric alcohol in product, and neutralization product is treated with carbon dioxide. Alkylphenol is reacted with elementally sulfur at temperatures from 140 to 180 C. EFFECT: improved detergent anticorrosive and antioxidizing properties of lubricating oils. 2 cl, 6 ex, 1 tbl
