SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for preparing lubricating oil additives by condensation of an alkylphenol with 37 % solution of formaldehyde in presence of a catalyst, followed by treating product of alkali-earth metal hydroxide in a diluent oil medium, wherein alkylphenol used is C8, C9, C12, C18 alkylphenols with molar ratio alkylphenol to formaldehyde of 1:0.6-1.3, process is conducted in presence of a solvent, catalyst is acidic or alkaline catalyst, alkali-earth metal hydroxide used is calcium hydroxide, and method comprises further carbonation by passing carbon dioxide through resulting product in presence of a promoter.
EFFECT: technical result of present invention to provide sulphur-free alkylphenol additives with base number of 200 mg KOH/g, which has high detergency, anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion properties.
