FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, namely processes for making high-quality ingots of copper-base tin-containing alloys by vacuum electric arc refining in combination with vacuum induction melting for producing parts by plastic working. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of vacuum electric arc refining of consumable electrode to crystallizer in inert-gas atmosphere while using as consumable electrode ingot of tin-containing copper-base alloy produced by vacuum induction melting; using crystallizer with electromagnet; setting intensity of magnetic field of electromagnet according to expression: 1010(10/q-1)≤H≤12(100/q-1), with values of electric current density of electric arc in range 20-40, where H - intensity of magnetic field of electromagnet, A/cm; q - density of electric current of electric arc,A/sq.cm of area of cross section of crystallizer. Method allows to make products by plastic working with high deformation degree and to reduce loss of yield by 3-5 times, particularly at using multifiber Nb3Sn-base superconductors of ultrathin fibers with diameter 2-10 micrometers.
