FIELD: special electrometallurgy, possibly manufacture of high quality ingots of alloys containing refractory components, namely, for making superconductive materials, by combination of vacuum electric arc remelting and vacuum electric-arc lining-slag melting. SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of forming consumable electrode of one or several rods, vacuum electric arc remelting of consumable electrode to crystallizer. Rods are made by deforming first-remelting ingots produced by vacuum electric-arc lining-slag melting at elongation degree determined according to expression n = D2/d2≥(19.7Tk/Tc-18.6)/(Tk/Tc+2.86), where n is elongation degree; D is diameter of ingot made by vacuum electric-arc lining-slag melting; d is diameter of rod made of ingot produced by vacuum electric-arc lining-slag melting; Tc is melting temperature of refractory component; Tal is melting temperature of alloy. Process allows to increase yield by 4.4% due to lowered elongation degree of first-remelting ingot, to lower labor consumption at making first-remelting consumable electrode by 11% in comparison with well known methods.
