FIELD: transport engineering, agricultural machinery, stationary and mobile plants. SUBSTANCE: proposed internal combustion engine has housing and axle with fitted-on working member coupled with shaft. Working member is provided with diametrically mounted pistons made in form of truncated segment which are hinge-coupled with working member for rolling and are mated with inner surface of housing. Working chambers are formed by working member with piston and ring installed on fixed axle. Housing with oval inner surface is coupled with ring installed on axle, and it rotates in the same direction as working member, but at half of its speed. Ring is driven by engine shaft by gear wheels. Working mixture distributing mechanism formed by channel in body of axle, in walls of ring and in walls of working member in contact with ring is made separate for each working member, which makes it possible to cut out one or several pistons in process of operation to save fuel, when engine load is low. Pistons installed diametrically in body of working member do not create inertia loads on axle which provides reduction of friction losses, increase of speed and power output. EFFECT: improved traction characteristics, increased economy of engine owing to large store of energy of rotating masses. 4 cl, 7 dwg
