FIELD: quality control of metals and alloys. SUBSTANCE: gear incorporates instrument converter made of two metal contact electrodes and secondary instrument connected to these electrodes. First electrode comes in the form of tube with open lower end whose plane is perpendicular to axis of tube. Internal space of first electrode houses second electrode anchored on insulator whose lower end is fitted with flat radiator of β- particles, is parallel to plane of end of first electrode and is placed at fixed distance from this plane.
