FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves mowing and grinding aboveground buds; removing non-commercial parts and destructing top sod layer; undercutting root layer; extracting roots and rootstocks from undercut layer; laying root mass onto day side of strip; harvesting raw root material and reclaiming surface of harvested strip. Upon removal of non-commercial parts and destruction of top sod layer at continuous operating mode in prepared strip, root layer is cut in vertical plane into equally spaced vertical slits of equal and/or unequal depth, or in horizontal plane to produce strip. Section of strip may be made in the form of rectangle, part of circle, part of trapezium or in the form of triangle. Sections of cultivated zones with vertical slits of different depth or with strips of different shape are smaller than section of lifted root layer undercut along perimeter. EFFECT: increased efficiency by complete collection of plant material such as roots and rootstocks, and reduced power consumption. 15 dwg
