FIELD: technology of preparation of carbon sorbents. SUBSTANCE: proposed macroporous inert carbon absorbent has specific surface of 0.1 to 1 g. sq.m; free volume in absorbent layer is equal to 3.7 to 4.2 cu.cm/g at volume of macropores about 3 cu.cm/v; average radius or pores is about 1000 nm at the following distribution of pores by sizes: pores at radius lesser than 10 nm 10 nm, 1 to 5%; pores at radius of 10 to 100 nm, 4 to 10%: pores at radius of 100 to 5000 nm, 75 to 80% and pores at radius more than 5000 nm, 10 to 15 %; absorbent possesses hydrophobic and oleophilic properties. Absorbent is obtained through drying dispersed lignocellulose material at 70 to 80 C in nitrogen medium, mixing lignocellulose material with reagent, carbonization at 230 to 280 C and cooling. EFFECT: improved quality of absorbent for absorption of oil. 29 cl, 3 dwg, 3 tbl
