FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: sorbent is obtained by carbonising crushed stalks of common reed, which are heated at 450-500°C for 10-15 minutes until achieving about 70% mass loss, treating with 5% nitric acid solution, washing with water and drying at 100°C. The process is carried out until a sorbent containing the following is obtained: 70-80% carbon component, 19-29% silicate component and 1% water.
EFFECT: obtaining a sorbent characterised by selective sorption with respect to phenols, hydrocarbons, barbiturates, cholesterol derivatives, aminoglycosides, anthracyclines, as well as heavy metal ions.
