FIELD: electrochemical treatment of aqueous solutions. SUBSTANCE: process deals with electrochemical controllable sorption of organic contamination, oil products, pesticides, salts of heavy metals, nitrites, nitrates and the like. Aqueous solutions subject to purification are passed through cathode and anode of porous carbonaceous sorbents with their subsequent regeneration in process of work. Blocks of porous carbonaceous sorbent thermally fastened together by polymer binder are used in the capacity of cathode and anode, they are polarized by constant voltage of 0.5-5.0 V/kg of block mass in the course of purification. Flow rate of aqueous solution is kept at 50.0-500.0 l/h and solutions are regenerated by constant voltage of 10.0-20.0 V on basis of 1.0 kg of block mass by way of change of polarization sign. EFFECT: reduced energy consumption thanks to low volt-ampere characteristics of found adsorption and regeneration characteristics, uninterrupted operational mode, absence of electrolyte and stage of electrolyte washing off electrodes, absence of comparison electrode. 1 dwg
