FIELD: automated production process, namely automatization of working, assembling, welding, measuring operations, particularly operations for orienting rod type parts with cylindrical and other steps between which there is drop not extended along the whole perimeter of bead. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing mounted with inclination by angle α and having central plug fixed onto it, receiving trough mounted in upper portion of housing, discharging trough secured to lower portion of housing, ring with radial grooves mounted by means of bracket onto housing and joined with housing and with central plug with possibility of rotation around axis of said plug by means of drive unit mounted on said bracket. Housing is provided with ports; first port is arranged in front of receiving trough; second port is arranged in front of discharging trough. Housing also includes logement arranged in front of discharging trough. Central plug has radial duct arranged in front of port and having inlet and outlet portions joined with radial grooves at matching them. Apparatus also includes clamping unit arranged in logement; end cam secured to housing; arranged on housing mechanisms for reducing cross sections of outlet portions of radial grooves. Ring has openings arranged symmetrically in pairs relative to lengthwise axis of each radial groove and cross grooves crossing outlet portions of radial grooves. Number of cross grooves and reducing mechanisms corresponds to number of radial grooves. Each reducing mechanism is in the form of spring-loaded fork having two inclined slits in lateral sides of fork; said slits are arranged symmetrically relative to lengthwise axis of fork. The last also includes pusher with roller, spring and two shutter halves having on end portions cutouts with shape corresponding to that of cross section of small step of oriented rod and having pins on other end portions. Lateral sides of fork are joined with openings of ring with possibility of reciprocation motion of fork along axis of central plug; roller is mounted with possibility of engaging with end cam. Pusher is mounted in fork with possibility of reciprocation motion along lengthwise axis of fork; pins are joined with inclined slits. Shutter halves are arranged in cross groove symmetrically relative to lengthwise axis of radial groove with possibility of introducing their end portions having cutouts to radial groove. EFFECT: improved design providing enlarged manufacturing possibilities. 4 dwg
