FIELD: electrical engineering, possibly power source for direct electric current welding arc in different branches of national economy. SUBSTANCE: in first variant of invention apparatus includes power transformer, main and additional rectifiers, power and storage chokes. Power transformer is saturation type transformer. Power choke is connected in series with primary winding of power transformer. One of terminals of subsidiary winding (said terminals are joined with one of inlet terminals of subsidiary rectifier) is electrically matched with secondary winding. Second terminal of subsidiary winding through storage choke is connected with other inlet terminal of subsidiary rectifier; one of terminals of subsidiary winding (connected with one of inlet terminals of subsidiary rectifier) is electrically matched with secondary winding through storage choke and its second terminal is connected with other inlet terminal of subsidiary rectifier. In second variant of invention apparatus includes subsidiary transformer, power and storage chokes. Power transformer is saturation type transformer. Power choke is connected in series with primary winding of power transformer. Its secondary winding is connected in parallel with primary winding of subsidiary transformer. Said primary winding is connected by its one terminal with one of inlet terminals of subsidiary rectifier and it is connected in series (directly or through storage choke) with one terminal of its secondary winding. Other terminal of secondary winding is connected (through storage choke or directly) with other inlet terminal of subsidiary rectifier.
