FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: reservoir capacitor charging device has step-up transformer 2 whose secondary winding 3 in connected to rectifier 5 and primary winding 3 is connected to low voltage supply source 7 through transistor switch 6. Device has also master generator 8 connected with control circuit of transistor switch 6. Master generator 8 and transistor switch 7 are built around saturable circuit transformer 9 whose primary winding 10 being output winding of master generator, is placed between base and emitter power transistor 11, and secondary winding 12 is placed in load circuit of power transistor. First and second windings are connected for aiding, and ratio between number of turns in primary winding and number of turns in secondary winding is either greater than or equal to transistor switch gain. Transistor switch triggering circuit 8 is blocking oscillator with collector-base transformer feedback. Protection circuit is connected in parallel with time setting capacitor 17 of blocking oscillator. Protection circuit consists of series connected resistor 21 and diode 22. Point of connection of resistor and diode is connected, through additional diode 23, to output of step up transformer secondary winding. Device can be furnished with threshold voltage measurement circuit on capacitance energy storage built around resistors 24, 25 and voltage stabilizing diode 27. Transformer with saturable magnetic circuit has additional winding 28 whose outputs are connected through semiconductor switch 29 featuring unidirectional conduction whose control input is connected to output of above indicated measurement circuit. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities.
