FIELD: modification of polyester fibers; packing materials for various articles. SUBSTANCE: polyester fiber of spiral configuration at crimp degree of about 24 turns per dm or lesser, height after compression of about 0.75 to 1.25 cm, porosity of at least 10% by volume; it is coated with durable coat making it glossy to ensure internal friction of staple gasket 0.27 and lesser; its twist contraction is about or more than 35%. Article with filler made from polyester fiber according to present invention is used as packing material.
