FIELD: removal of moisture from small particles. SUBSTANCE: waterproofing substance is added to free-flowing material. Having covered the surface of particles, the waterproofing reagent imparts improved hydrophobic qualities to the particles and increases the wetting angle of their surface with water. After the change of the hydrophobic qualities of particles moisture may be removed by the mechanical method, for example, by blowing with compressed air. Due to the fact that the waterproofing substance enhances the inclination of particles to repel water, water is easily removed from the surface of particles at moderate pressure and temperature. Water can also be removed by addition of liquefied gas to the wet material, which displaces the drops of water from the surface of the material, which is then dried off due to evaporation of liquefied gas. EFFECT: produced economic, safe and effective method of dehydration of a wide spectrum of materials including particles of coal, clay, minerals of sulfides, compounds of phosphorus, minerals of metal oxides, metals and free- flowing waste. 4 cl, 8 dwg
