FIELD: chemical or physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device and method of dispersing agglomerates of hydrophobic particles, for example, coal and hydrophobic minerals, in continuous phase from hydrophobic liquid. Method of dispersing hydrophobic particles in a hydrophobic liquid comprises feeding agglomerates of hydrophobic particles containing drops of water and a hydrophilic mineral substance, captured in them, into container, wherein said container contains hydrophobic liquid; destruction of agglomerates and release of water droplets and hydrophilic mineral substance from said agglomerates by moving agglomerates a) along the path in the packing material, b) along track in crushed material or c) in built-in static mixer; removing hydrophobic liquid and hydrophobic particles from container through first outlet and discharging water droplets and hydrophilic mineral substance from container through second outlet.
EFFECT: invention provides creation of a turbulent flow, which promotes destabilization of agglomerates in hydrophobic liquid suitable for repeated use and facilitates dispersion.
