CONVEYOR WITH OVERHEAD BELT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: materials handling facilities; conveyors. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to overhead belt conveyors for transportation of lump loads. It can be used at grinding, sorting and concentrating mills. Proposed conveyor has endless belt closed on drums with twin rolls secured on brackets connected to belt sides. Rolls can rest on rigid tubular guides. Guides for rolls on belt carrying run in zone of conveyor loading are made in form of rubber cords whose diameter is equal to diameter of rigid tubular guides and ends are made in form of hubs to be arranged in inner spaces of rigid guide tubes adjoining the cords with possibility of cord fixing by pins fitted in through holes on free ends of tubular guides and in coaxial holes of cord hubs. Length of open part of cords is taken from equation l_r< l_c< 2l_r, where l_c is length of cord open part; l_r is roll pitch over belt length. EFFECT: increased damping capacity of belt in zone of loading, reduced wear of belt owing to sufficiently large deformation (sagging) of cords in two planes. 4 dwg
