OVERHEAD BELT CONVEYOR FOR INCLINE WORKINGS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; mining. SUBSTANCE: overhead belt conveyor for incline workings has endless belt closed in vertical plane and forming carrying run and return run with brackets connected at definite pitch to sides of belt. Twin running rolls are installed on brackets for engagement with endless tubular guides secured on conveyor frame posts. Conveyor has several paired bell-cranks arranged lengthwise the conveyor on carrying and return runs of belt. Bell-cranks are installed for turning around axles fitted in conveyor frame eyes and for engagement with one of twin running rolls. Each bell-crank is installed on belt run moving upwards for turning in plane of belt sides and engaging by one end with running roll and by other end, spring-loaded relative frame post, with stop secured on frame. Each bell- crank on run moving downwards is installed for turning in plane square to belt side plane. This belt-crank is made with different length arms, longer arm being directed downwards and its length being greater than distance from axis to lower edge of stop secured of frame eyes, and length of shorter arm being less this distance. EFFECT: improved reliability in operation owing to provision of catching of both runs, if broken, at lifting and lowering of loads. 4 dwg
