FIELD: building materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to building materials based on litharge-glycerol cement. Composition for making building articles comprising technical glycerol, lead oxide has additionally a filling agent that is waste from production of optical glass with particles size 0.315-0.63 mm and water in the following ratio of components, wt.%: technical glycerol, 6.9-7.1; lead oxide, 50.1-51.8; water; 1.0-1.1; indicated filling agent, the balance. Invention can be used for making building articles and articles designated for protection from ionizing radiations. EFFECT: increased mean density value, decreased water absorption, expanded raw basis. 1 tbl
