FIELD: mineral mining from bottom of shelf seas presented by horizontal or slightly inclined deposits of unconsolidated or slightly consolidated bottom depositions relating to bedded placers occurring directly on bottom surface and featuring small vertical thickness (up to 0.5-1.0 m) that relate especially to concretions. SUBSTANCE: device has frame carrying actuating member; drive and pressure pipeline; supporting skids; carrying float secured to upper platform of frame. Actuating member is made in form of face milling cutter-ripped with involute blades located between two disks. Lower disk has cutouts similar to blade shape and provided with knives fastened to disk external surface and installed obliquely to side of milling cutter rotation and adjacent to outer curve of slots. Actuating member is connected by means of telescopic hydraulic cylinders with driving gear-table meshed with driving gear and drive. Device operation ensures uniform extraction of concretion-bearing layer through preset thickness with maximum content of solid material in hydraulic mixture fed to suction pipeline with provision of layer by layer extraction of deposit and its separation into separate horizons depending on content of concretions in vertical plane. Excessive nonregulated deepening of device into muddy enclosing rock of subwater deposit is excluded. Formation of suspension cloud in face zone with disturbance of ecological equilibrium is practically eliminated. EFFECT: higher efficiency of device. 5 dwg
