REVERBERATING FURNACE GAS CONDUIT Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, in particular, copper-refining reverberating furnace. SUBSTANCE: gas conduit has cooled vertical channel and horizontal gas discharge channel with dust discharge hoppers. Furnace has uncooled slide valve mounted at outlet horizontal gas discharge channel. Vertical gas discharge channel is provided with hot air supply system positioned at inlet end and having nozzles and cooled wall positioned at outlet end. Regulating cooled slide valve is mounted above cooled wall. Nozzles are positioned in horizontal plane at an angle of 25-45 deg and in vertical plane at an angle of 10-25 deg to gas discharge channel walls. Adjustable regulating cooled slide valve is mounted for rotation about horizontal axis in gas flow direction. Ratio of cooled wall and adjustable cooled slide valve height is 2:1. Such construction allows organic substances contained in discharged gases to be burnt up to maximum extent due to increased volume of vertical gas discharge channel. EFFECT: reduced outbursts and simplified catching and removal of bursts, increased service life of unit. 2 dwg
