FIELD: mechanical engineering; piston expansion machines; performing function of expanders in refrigerating engineering and pneumatic motors in mining industry. SUBSTANCE: piston expander has cylinder with piston and exhaust ports, inlet pipe union, cylinder head, self-acting normally-open with shut-off member and limiter; shut- off member is made in form of flexible plate secured as cantilever between limiter and valve plate. Adjusting screw fitted in lower portion of cylinder head. Bush and spring are fitted on guide screw and are received by hole for control of lift of shut-off member. EFFECT: increased of shaft rotational speed; reduction of lag of shut-off member; reduction of clearance volume and usage of metal; enhanced efficiency; controllability of machine power parameters. 2 dwg
