FIELD: mining and petrochemical industries, refrigerating and cryogenic engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used as pneumatic motor and as gas expansion machine. Gas distributing system of proposed gas expansion machine includes self-acting normally open intake and outlet valves with limiters, intake and outlet unions and exhaust ports made in lower part of cylinder. Intake and outlet valves are made in form of spring-loaded shutoff members furnished with rod. Intake and outlet valves can be made in form of cantilever mounted flexible plates or strips spring-loaded by leaf springs. Invention improves efficiency of machine in operation, even at undersigned conditions owing to provision of higher values of indicator work and refrigeration output thanks to increased duration of filling and discharge processes.
