FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: piston expansion machine is intended for use in power-plant engineering as pneumatic or gas engine, for example in mining, chemical and petrochemical industry. In the machine housing the expansion barrels with non-direct-flow and direct-flow gas distribution systems are installed. Non-direct-flow gas distribution system comprises normally open self-actuated inlet and bleed valves, and direct-flow system - normally open self-actuated inlet valves and exhaust openings in cylinder walls at the end of the piston stroke. High-pressure gas (air) is expanded in expansion cylinders with non-direct-flow gas distribution system, and then goes through the common distributor (header or receiver) for further expansion down to low pressure in cylinders with direct-flow system.

EFFECT: more complete gas expansion and higher performance and power of the expansion machine.
