FIELD: metallurgical production, namely manufacture of cold rolled sheets and making up set of rolls in yard for respective rolling shop. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making up set of full yard of rolls in quantity N = ngr+nst, where ngr- quantity of ground rolls in rack before rolling mill providing at least with probability 95% for each rolling stand completion of pairs of rolls without adjustment of their diameters; nst - stored roll quantity at taking into account time period necessary for changing, assembling, disassembling, transporting, keeping before grinding for cooling, preliminary heating before rolling; determining ngr=ngr1 x kvar, where ngr1 - number of ground rolls in rack before rolling mill with one variant of roll profiling for providing roll pair completion without adjustment of roll diameters; kvar - number of profiling variants of rolls used for rolling all types of sheet blanks in rolling mill; nst = n1+n2+n3+n4+n5+n6, where n1 - number of rolls mounted in rolling stands; n2- number of ground rolls assembled with chocks during stage of technological heating before rolling; n3- number of ground rolls assembled with chocks placed in carriages for changing rolls before rolling mill; n4 - number of rolls removed out of rolling mill and placed in front of gringing mill for technological holding until full cooling off; n5 - number of temporarily "mortified" rolls needing larger time period for their holding and grinding in order to remove flaws such as builtup metal, welding zones of bearing and roll journals and so on; n6 - number of rolls used as reserved ones for period of transporting between rolling mill and grinding shop. Invention allows to change roll yard by 4-12% due to selecting roll pairs not needing adjustment of roll diameters.
