SUBSTANCE: residual petroleum processing products, for example, petroleum pitches with softening temperature from 78 to 250 C and gasoline pyrolysis heavy tar are applied on copper plate, rapidly heated to 150-900 C in inert gas atmosphere, kept for 20 to 900 s, and rapidly cooled to 10-25 C. After extraction with carbon tetrachloride at this temperature, C60 are isolated by known methods, e.g. by vacuum sublimation. Yield 25-36%.
