FIELD: photometric determination of homogeneity and stability of dispersive systems, analysis of size of particles of any powders, dusts, granules, emulsions and suspensions. SUBSTANCE: in correspondence with procedure suspension is photometered in infrared region of spectrum at wave length 700-900 nm at height H above surface of liquid medium, value A of optical density of medium in the course of time (τ) from start of sedimentation to its transfer to practically constant value which change in time does not exceed 2-10% of present value A of optical density of medium is found. Then obtained data are processed to determine number and size of particles in liquid medium. EFFECT: increased accuracy and sensitivity of determination of size of particles and their distribution according to size while examining their sedimentation in suspensions, expanded application field of procedure, widened interval of determined concentrations without dilution of sample, raised accuracy of determination of time of stability of suspension, decreased cost of this analysis due to employment of simple equipment easy of access. 7 cl, 6 dwg
