FIELD: processing of worn-out tires and other industrial waste and domestic garbage. SUBSTANCE: method consists in forming and preparation of a pack of material of worn-out tires, placement of this pack in an armored chamber, blast of an explosive charge inside the pack, primary destruction and grinding of the pack by action of the blast and removal of the blast products and material of tires from the armored chamber, the pack is formed in the form of tightly packed layers, and its primary destruction is carried out in the conditions of free expansion up to the destruction of the peripheral layers. The device for grinding of worn-out tires has an armored chamber, means for loading of tires in the chamber and arrangement of them in it, means for arrangement and blast of the explosive, the characteristic dimension of the armored chamber in any cross-section, perpendicular to the axis of the armored chamber and passing through the compact pack, varies within 2 to 7 diameters of the compact pack in this section. The compact pack comprises successively twisted on a spiral path blanks of raw material obtained from the tires. The pack is formed of several aligned spiral twists with an axial hole. EFFECT: reduced power consumption, enhanced efficiency of tire destruction and enhanced degree of grinding of the produced fragments. 16 cl, 5 dwg
