FIELD: metallurgy; production of ingots of homogeneous composition from alloys of refractory metals by vacuum arc autocrucible melting. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes melting of two cycles of remelting of consumable electrode into crucible and casting in ingot mold; at each remelting cycle, melt is held for definite period of time; total delay time of two remelting cycles is found from the following dependence: , where τtotal is total delay time of two remelting cycles, s; K is relationship of melting points of the most refractory component to melting point of alloy ((K ≥ 1,2), m); m is mass of melt in crucible by the moment of disconnection of arc at first remelting cycle to total delay time at two remelting cycles equal to , where τ1 is delay time of melt before casting at first remelting cycle, s. Method provides for production of ingots of homogeneous composition for manufacture of rolled stock, wire and pipes, especially for manufacture of superconducting wires with ultrafine fibers (< 1 μm).
