FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: root extraction tool is made in the form of cylinder, whose lower edge is sharpened at its inner side and is bent outward at an angle of 20-30 deg to vertical plane. Cylinder side surfaces are equipped with rigidity ribs having equally spaced openings of 10-15 mm diameter between them. Handle is attached to upper edge of cylinder. Tool of such construction may be used for effecting investigation works in extracting large mass of thin roots. EFFECT: reduced labor and time consumption for extracting soil-root monoliths. 2 dwg _
