FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves filling osteotonometry system with anticoagulant solution. Pressure is preliminarily produced that is greater than the supposed intraosteal pressure by several millimeter of aqueous column. The system is hermetically sealed. Zero tick on the pressure-reading scale is brought into coincidence with distal needle end level in introducing the needle into the femur neck. Lumen on the lateral surface of the working needle is opened and intraosteal pressure is recorded. Local anesthesia is administered before taking measurements. EFFECT: higher reliability of intraosteal pressure measurement data; reduced risk of traumatic injuries. 2 cl, 1 dwg
