FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying diagnostic procedures like needle electromyography with evaluated motor unit potential duration values, maximum and mean values of motor unit potential amplitudes, biopotential histogram properties deviations degrees with respect to age-related norm, the extent to which fibrillation and fasciculation phenomena are pronounced, the number of polyphasic motor unit potentials, psychrometric examination of psychoemotional stress in testing the patients under study, upper extremity rheovasography examination, X-ray or densitometry examination of the upper extremities with all characteristic being evaluated, their information significance being taken into account and an integral index being calculated. It is advisable to additionally take into consideration length of service in given occupation branch, sanitary and hygienic conditions of work, occurrence of the like diseases in the given occupational group, negative dynamic tendency in disease development, rate of calling for medical care and data of periodical medical examinations and to calculate integral coefficient of an occupational disease. EFFECT: higher reliability in diagnosing occupational diseases caused by functional overstrain.
